La trama
Arrivato a Boston all’inizio degli anni Novanta, Decourcy Ward (Aldis Hodge), un giovane vice-procuratore distrettuale proveniente da Brooklyn, si pone un obiettivo difficilissimo: spazzare via un sistema di corruzione in cui è coinvolto anche chi la legge dovrebbe applicarla alla lettera, cioè le forze dell’ordine. Un’impresa a dir poco titanica, ma necessaria, visto lo stato in cui verte la città, le cui strade sono impregnate di violenza, di pallottole e di sangue.
Per riuscirci, Ward si troverà suo malgrado costretto ad allearsi con Jackie Rohr (Kevin Bacon), un veterano dell’FBI corrotto (o, per come la vede lui, con una morale piuttosto elastica) ma stimato dai colleghi, uno che conosce benissimo le dinamiche delle strade di quella disgraziata città. Grazie all’aiuto di Rohr, uno che ha visto e ha fatto di tutto in decenni di carriera, il giovane vice-procuratore darà inizio a una vera e propria rivoluzione, ma arriverà anche a capire che, alle volte, il fine giustifica i mezzi.
